Why are RSPs not able to offer secure certificates? We do that just fine

I agree.
And before someone says this (I know you people too well by now), no my position is not in contradiction to my prior position on other services. This is a service that RSPs as a rule are not able to offer on their own, so it's not at all competing with the RSP's value added abilities.
